I cannot believe I am writing this in here but I helped a cat to deliver 5 kittens in our yard. First, I need to rewind to the part of the story where I tell you about me being a dog person. I love dogs for their innocent faces and loyalty. Then I go forward to the part where one grey cat comes to our yard. She looks confident about her choice of habitat. She does not ask for our permission. She acts as if it is our very duty to take care of her. She starts making constant visits to us. Even to this day I do not know why but I start feeding her. This continues for 9+weeks. And then one day she starts acting strange. This is where it gets spiritual.
She is approaching me and touching my feet in order to show me a place. I do not get it. She persists and hits me even harder. I follow her into a place where there is carton box. She gets in saying that this will be her labor spot. I am shocked. She insists on me taking her to a much warmer place with this box. I do so. I lay a warm blanket inside the box and she adjusts herself checking everything for one last time. Then she looks at me in a way which made me reconsider learning the language of animals. My poor translation ability tells that she wants me to be there and support her along the process. And then kittens start coming one by one.
According to the ancient beliefs certain cats come to our lives due to certain reasons. Black cat comes for wealth, grey one comes to protect from evil eyes and energy. This lady cat is grey and her kittens are black and grey in two clusters.
I believe I am still a dog person but I also think that cats are more adapted to this harsh life that we are living. They know exactly what to do and how to do things. I was amazed by this very experience.
I am pretty sure if cats had LinkedIn profiles, they would write about things that were unheard of.
And yes, this 3d printed cat figure was given to me by my student (one day before the labor process). My student had no idea about our yard and this cat.
Call it pure coincidence. I cannot.
I was feeding her and now I have extra 5 stomachs.
